i cannot tell you that, but we are even, yes? yes. i wanted the show to work. i was willing to do anything. even kill? w... she surprised me. when i was changing out of the hanover costume, nobody was supposed to be in the room at that time. nobody. i told her that i put every penny i had into the show and that hanover was necessary to give our investors a confidence and peace of mind and that once i had the money i needed, i would make hanover disappear and that everything would work out in the end. but she said no. (speaks inaudibly) she wouldn't be any part of it... (smack) that she was going to tell sunderland, which of course meant that everyone would find out and... that would have ruined everything.

(thud, crash) yeah. i didn't mean for this to happen. so what happened next? uh, i left by the fire escape. no one saw me. and then i went and got in my car around the corner, and i drove up and introduced myself to the police. this was gonna be the hit show that put me back on top. everyone would have benefited. if only she hadn't walked through that door. (blinds clatter) (crying) (telephone ringing in distance) i, um, i didn't have nearly enough time with her. and i so loved the person that she was and respected her.

on the house intelligence committee had strong word about snowden. >> he turned his back on his country. he went to china and russia, that speaks for itself. >> reporter: snowden is accused of leaking classified information. his revelation sparked debate about u.s. surveillance practices. and president obama said he'll make practices more transparent and accountable. ruppersbergerer says those programs are needed. >> we need this program and the president understands that. >> did you feel the agency invaded anyone's privacy. >> absolutely not. >> reporter: lon snowden said much of what the president said is superficial. snowden's father says he has not spoken with his son since he left the u.s. more than a dozen embassies are back open tonight after security concerns shut them down earlier this month. u.s. officials say it was the most serious terror threat in years. even comparing the threat to the 9/11 attacks.

today the u.s. embassy in tripoli and cairo reopened. but the embassy in yemen remains closed. back in the states, the california teenager will son see her family again. she was missing for a week. hannah anderson was rescued after law enforcement shot and killed her alleged abductor. marly hall reports for wjz. >> reporter: after nearly a week of worry, raffle and sarah brit will soon be reunited with their granddaughter. >> we're going to hug her. >> reporter: the 16-year-old's ordeal came to an end when f.b.i. agents rescued her and shot and killed her alleged kidnapper james dimaggio. >> the way it ended up for hannah and jim, it's fitting. >> reporter: just a week ago they lost their daughter christina anderson and 8-year-old grandson ethan. the two bodies were found in

dimaggio's burned california home. that's when authorities believe he fled the san diego area with hannah. law enforcement officials tracked them to a remote area from central idaho after horseback riders said they saw a man and girl. >> i said that's the girl we seen on the mountain. >> reporter: the car was found hidden under twigs and branches. the agents approached the campsite on foot and waited until they separated and shot and killed the suspect. f.b.i. agents are still processing evidence. they say they won't release additional details about what happened between dimaggio and law enforcement until an investigation is complete. marly hall, wjz eyewitness news. >> hannah anderson was lifted from the idaho campsite and

brought to a hospital for observation. she appeared unharmed. in baltimore, closing arguments are set to begin tomorrow in the murder for hire travel against carla porter. porter took the stand friday in her own defense. she told jurors she suffered years of verbal and physical abuse at hands of her husband william porter. she's accused of hiring a hit man to kill her husband in 2010. the five other defendants in the scheme are already serving prison time. eight people go to hospital along i-695 between providence road and delaney road when a passenger van flipped on to its roof down an embankment. the van had severe damage but no one was trapped inside the vehicle. everyone was taken to the hospital. no word on their condition or how the van flipped over. now to sports news, the ravens add a new man to the

team. brendon stokley returned to baltimore. he signed a one-year contract with the team. the birds drafted him in 1999. he has since played for indianapolis, denver, seattle, and the new york giants. stokley was at practice today but did not suit up. and speaking of public practice number two, thousands of ravens fans went to the bank today to see the team in action. wjz is live, row shell ritchie has the latest on today's practice and spoke with very excited fans. >> reporter: they are very excited. purple fever is in effect and football season hasn't kicked off just yet but ravens fans are expecting the team to be the miami heat of football with back to back championships. are you ready for football? [ cheering ]. >> reporter: ravens fans certainly are. [ cheering ]. >> reporter: the stadium is filled with eager and anxious die-hard fans.

>> this is exciting day. i've been waiting for this since the super bowl. >> reporter: for many it's the only chance they have of being this close to the players. >> free, watching your favorite team and enjoying football in the sun. >> reporter: they watched their super bowl favorites to see how the ravens are prepared for another spectacular season. despite moving key players they still expect the team to dominate on the field. >> they had a great draft a lot of our core players coming back. we have a great coach. >> i think they can build a dynasty it flacco plays well and they find the talent they're looking for on the receiving corps. >> reporter: there's no way the fans couldn't come out and support the guys this year. >> it's amazing the people that come out to support them. it's amazing and i'm, like, you know, i can be a part of it.

>> reporter: the teammate today met young fans signing autographs. they're hoping for an another super bowl win so we can all celebrate like this again. who could forget that night? that was awesome. according to the ravens twitter account, 25,000 people were in attendance. a third and final open practice had be held next week at stevenson university. all fans are welcome. there's some relief at the pump for drivers. the low prices may not last long. >> reporter: the numbers are often going up at the pump but over the hast few days the prices nationwide and in maryland have been falling. >> takes a little less of the sting out of your wallet when you get to fill up all the way. >> reporter: summer gas prices

hit a high of $3.70 on july 12th. since then the average cost of a gallon of regular fell 9 cents coming up at $3.61 last week. >> we've been seeing crude oil prices trend very high but despite that we've started seeing gas prices trickle down which is encouraging news. >> reporter: sounds good to drivers who say they've been pinching their gas pennies. >> my daughter was important in '98, 99 cents a gallon. >> you have to watch every dollar in this economy. but you look at numbers cranking by and you wonder when you're going to get up to $100 fill one of these days. >> reporter: several factors could cause the prices to go in the opposite direction. one of those is tropical storms in the gulf. while they haven't been a problem yet a very busy hurricane season is in the works so these low gas prices may not

good health. this is isaiah perez, police searched for him after two bodies were discovered at a home in johnstown. he was missing. two men have been arrested in connection with his abduction. police have not revealed how the suspects are related to the victim. a memorial is held for the victims of the plane crash in connecticut. the pilot, bill henningsgaard was killed along with his son maxwell. they crashed while trying to land at a nearby airport. the bodies of two children, ages 13 and 1, were pulled from the wreckage of a home hit by the plane. the ntsb is still investigating the crash. saying goodbye to a little boy who was an inspiration to so many. funeral services were held for logan stevenson. logan was terminally ill fighting a rare genetic disorder and leukemia. just last week thanks to support from the community, logan served

as best man at his parents' wedding. people who attended the service say they have learned so much from logan. >> there's days where you think you have a bad day, and you know you're stressed out and stuff and you see things like this and it really doesn't compare. keep fighting and do what you can. >> dozens of motorcycle riders and fire trucks showed up at the funeral because they know logan loved them. they're holding fund raisers to help the family cover the costs of the funeral. a suspicious package scare. two workers at jfk airport fell ill after handling what officials thought might be hazardous material. the package came from china and had a distinct odor. but the package was tested and determined it was beauty supplies. the two employees who got sick did not immediate medical attention. the port of baltimore has a record breaking year and has pat warren reports, that means more

money for more marylanders. >> reporter: breaking reports, the port of baltimore moves 9.5 million tons of cargo. >> we just don't put all our eggs in one basket. >> reporter: the port of baltimore is number one in the u.s. for paper, farm, and construction machinery and cars. this year the port added supersize cranes and deeper container berths. >> an agreement made this happy. >> reporter: nearly 15,000 people are supporting themselves and their families with direct jobs at the port. business here sports another 40,000 jobs and state wide overall, 108,000 jobs are linked to port activity that translates to $3 billion in personal income and more than 300 million in taxes. and the port is on target for another record breaker next

beautiful night out there. and comfortable, too, so pressant viewing conditions if you want to take a look outside. do it after midnight, even around 1:00 in the morning, pristine time to go out there. current temperatures are sitting in the mid-70s out there. 74 degrees in central maryland. 77 in dc. a little bit warmer down towards southern maryland. dewpoint at 66 degrees. so humidity is a little bit of a factor, but not a big concern for us. it's been more humid than we are right now. we'll keem the humidity in the -- keep the humidity in the forecast in the next couple of days and that's due to a shyatt shift in the winds. they're out of the southeast bringing in moisture from the bay but for now calm winds and central maryland could see fog developing during the overnight hours. the big picture on satellite and radar, we're still dealing with this pesky stationary front that's lining up right along the mid-atlantic states. it's going to shift northward tomorrow, and we have a slight

chance for a shower activity, maybe a rumble of thunder or two because we're going to be stuck in between two systems, first that stationary front hoecated down towards our south and then a very potent cold front that heads our way from ontario, canada, and that pushes in to our region tuesday afternoon and evening. that's is going to spark up a few strong to severe thunderstorms. that's something we'll keep a close eye on here in on tuesday. flooding downpours, damaging winds a possibility with this system as it heads into the region. that's for tuesday. bay temperatures at 79 degrees. winds tomorrow afternoon, southwest around 5 knots. so they will be on the calmer side for tomorrow. tonight, temperatures around 68 for the low. patchy clouds, and then for tomorrow will be around 87 degrees humid with intervals of clouds and sun. a slight chance for a stray shower or two. the next five days go like this, and i'll tell you what, i may be
